The Veikan Constitution

Veikaia is governed by a supreme Constitution based on the principle of civil rights and governed by the code of civil law, it establishes standards for governance and how the Council Republic must function. The Constitution also lists the rights and obligations of all Veikan citizens. It is one of the few in the world to stress the citizens' rights to bear arms and organize themselves in protection of the Council Republic against both foreign and internal threats. Overall the constitution stresses the need for a single party government, guarantees democratic rights to the population, acknowledges personal property rights and guarantees the right to form trade unions and strike.

The constitution was drafted shortly after the end of the Veikan Civil War in 1979, with the help of many representatives of Veikan leftism across the entire spectrum ranging from Anarchists to Duvalist-Wagnerists and other ideologies. The constitution was drafted with the rights of the population in mind, establishing the democratic Council Republic of Veikaia and the rights and obligations of the proletariat.
